Master Kathy
She is a 5th Dan Kukkiwon certified Black Belt, Word Taekwondo Federation level C-2 referee, and also a USAT level 1 coach with multiple Junior National and Senior National champions. She is a retired National and International competitor. In competion she was 2004 USNTF International Grand Champion in both Poomsae & fighting multiple years; she was a gold, silver, and bronze Senior National medalist in both Poomsae & fighting, plus numerous point sparring medals from open competitions in Canada, US and Mexico. She has been a member of Master Nawrozki's demonstration squads, as well as exhibition teams for Golden Dragons and Blue Dragons.
She has had 36 of years of TKD training: starting and always continuing with Master Joe Nawrozki, then including Master Lee and then Master Oh Jang in Canada, Grand Master Kim, Master Lee, Grand Master Chang in US, and of course, most honored to be invited to train with Jarrettsville TKD's tournament team. She has 28 years of teaching experience, which includes: The Korean Language School in Montreal, Canada, Youth Services Taekwondo program on both Aberdeen and Edgewood Area of APG, Adult taekwondo for APG Recreation Center, Self Defense for APG MPs, Golden Dragons taekwondo and Women's Self Defense at UMBC.



Dwight Griffith
Mr. Dwight, a 3rd Dan Black Belt, has been training under Master Joe Nawrozki at Jarrettsville TKD since 2000. Dwight finds fulfillment working with new students to help create a solid foundation as they begin their journey in the martial arts. He also enjoys the challenge of participating with the tournament team in Maryland state championships. He has earned gold, silver, and bronze medals in his division. Dwight is a father of 5, owns a 33-year-old construction company and is active in the Boy Scouts of America and Rotary International.





Ken Chamberlain
Mr. Ken has been studying Tae Kwon Do for 8 years and has earned gold, silver, and bronze medals in the state championships. He tested for his third dan black belt in December of 2010. "Mr. Ken is a dependable, talented and giving member of our class leadership cadre," said Master Nawrozki.






Emily Ciavolino
Emily started training at Jarrettsville in 2006, and also trained for a year before that under Instructor Steve Gray. She tested for her first dan blackbelt in February of 2009, and her third dan in December of 2010. She has competed in sparring on the state level throughout all of her training, and has earned top spots for sparring in the state championships.2011 national winner of  two-week scholarship trip to South Korea to study culture, language and history...recipient 2011 Maryland Taekwondo Scholarship...selected in nation-wide search for her 2011 essay on taekwondo and how it reaches into other parts of her rich life as a positive influence; she received the prestigious honor in December at the South Korean embassy in Washington D.C., presented by the Ambassador to the United States, the honorable Mr. Han Duk-soo. "Emily has absolutely been on fire this year," said Master Joe. "She exemplifies the traditional blend of our art and sport with real-life qualities...she's brought immeasurable pride to me and serves as an exceptional role model, particularly for my younger students."



Frank Ulmer
Frank tested for his first dan black belt in December of 2010. He has been practicing Tae Kwon Do since the fall of 2005 when he moved back to Harford County to manage Camp Wo- Me-To. He is married with two children. He graduated from North Harford High School and has furthered his studies at Towson University, Baltimore and Harford Community Colleges. He has placed first in four Maryland State tournaments and attributes his success in Tae Kwon Do to a solid work ethic and instructive coaching in tournament settings. He enjoys the discipline and physical nature of the sport as well as the friendships developed between the students of Jarrettsville Tae Kwon Do.





Amy Bertazon
Ms. Amy is chairperson of the program and a black belt candidate. "Amy is a crucial mainstay for the program," said Master Joe. "As a martial artist, she brings that skill and understanding to her other important, and many, missions that keep the taekwondo program running so smoothly. From making equipment available to writing reports and updating the county on our continuing success...she's truly an unsung heroine to all of us. A salute to you, Amy".

 

Charlie"Chuck" Smith
Charlie "Chuck" Smith is a Maryland State Police trooper, assigned to Harford County, who intends to return to his important work as a certified medic on the state police Med-Evac helicopter....a highly successful fighter on the state and national level, Chuck earned the gold medal in his division at the National Taekwondo Junior Olympics - defeating five opponents in one afternoon.






Mitchell Roberts
Mitch is 12 years old and an honors student at North Harford Middle School. He has been training at Jarrettsville TKD for 6 years and is a first poom black belt. He won a gold medal in the forms division of the Maryland State Championship in 2009."Mitch has extraordinary concepts of precision and self-discipline...he displays an interest beyond his years in continued curiosity and growth...a shining example for children joining our class," said Master Nawrozki
